Ballpoint Pens

The most common of writing instruments, ballpoint pens use an oil based viscous ink dispensed at the tip by the rolling action of a small metal sphere. The ink dries almost immediately after contact with paper. Reliable and maintenance-free, the ballpoint has virtually replaced the fountain pen as the most popular tool for everyday writing.

Ballpoint pens are available with either a twist or a click mechanism. The Tethys, Callisto, Calypso and Europa style pens all have a twist mechanism. The Telesto has a click mechanism.
